1 Dress Project

Take the decision making out of getting ready in the morning with the 1 dress challenge. In the 1 dress challenge, you commit to wearing 1 dress for the next 30 days.

I once read an article about a woman who wore the same dress for an extended amount of time…and no one commented on her lack of variety. She added some variety with sweaters and accessories, but still…1 dress for an extended amount of days.

I wondered what would happen if I wore the same thing for multiple days in a row. So I tried it. I wore a simple black dress for 5 days in a row…and no one commented. And so I wondered…could I go longer than 5 days? What about a 30 day challenge? What about a year?

Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “You should always own a black dress because no one ever remembers a black dress.”

I’ve decided to start with a 30 day challenge. Sometimes you figure things out best by starting small.

During this 30 day challenge, I’ll be sharing my outfit each day and sharing different ways to style your black dress. I know not everyone has the same style, so I’ve selected a few different dresses that will work well for this challenge.

I live in a climate where it is typically over 70 degrees every day of the year…so a sleeveless dress is a must for me…especially if I extend my challenge past the 30 days. I also prefer a scoop neck and a shorter profile. After trying a variety of dresses, I settled on this one.

Here are some other options for you.

You don’t have to wear any of the dresses I’ve chosen. If you have a black dress (or any color dress you want to wear for 30 days in a row) in your closet, feel free to use that.
